Seasons

As we all know this matter has always gotten a lot of discussion at most of our meetings. At our executive meeting on March 7^th a motion was passed to write a letter to Mr. Jim Hancock, Director of Wildlife, presenting the Society’s position for this year. The detailed letter was sent on March 13, 2000. The most important point of the letter was the proposed season dates:

Avalon Burin: Saturday, September 30 to Monday, November 25

Island: Saturday, September 30 to Saturday, November 25

Northern Peninsula: Saturday, September 16 to Saturday, October 28

We hope to have a response from the Director of Wildlife before our presentation at our Annual General Meeting and I am Sure there will be further discussions on this point.
