GPS (Global Positioning Systems) Seminar
There has been a great deal of interest shown by the membership in GPS (Global Positioning Systems), and how this technology can be used by us hunters, to help safely navigate the country side while in pursuit of our favorite pass-time. In response to this, Kerry Noble and Ray Anthony have contacted Mr. George Fowler, a gentleman who has extensive background with search and rescue utilizing GPS in real and/or emergency situations.
Mr. Fowler met with a group of members on February 22nd at the Softball Club House in Paradise where he spoke about what GPS actually is; its practical use for our purposes; and what to look for when buying a GPS receiver. The meeting was quite interactive as MR. Fowler readily answered questions as they arose. It was also decided that an actual hands-on seminar would be most beneficial to all.
In response to this, Kerry and Ray have arranged with Mr. Fowler to conduct a practical GPS Seminar to take place on Saturday, April 8th. He has advised us that in order to benefit those attending, ten would be a maximum class size. However, if there is sufficient response, additional seminars of the same type will be scheduled in order to accommodate all over a period of time.
Registration for this practical seminar is $5.00 per person.
If you have interest in attending, please contact Ray Anthony at 437-1264, or Kerry Noble at 781-1179.
